Tips for Easy, Scary Cute Halloween Treats

We’re ready for all of the Halloween treats like these adorable critters.  Blending items from the Gabe’s pantry and adding a creative touch, they’re super easy to make.  Pro Tip: Create a treat board by including all three critters and fill empty space with your favorite candies.

Chocolate Donut Spider

What’s got 8 legs and tastes delicious? These donut spiders! Here’s how to make your own.

Ingredients

  • Mini Chocolate Donuts

  • Small Pretzels

  • Candy Eyes

  • Chocolate for melting

Directions 

1. Cut the two curved sides off a pretzel using a sharp knife.

2. Gently push 8 pretzel curves into the top of a mini chocolate donut to form legs — be careful not to snap the pretzels!

3. Melt chocolate and place in a sandwich bag.

4. Clip off a tiny corner of the bag and pipe chocolate onto the back of candy eyes. 

5. Place the candy eye on the donut. Pro Tip: To make them extra scary, dip the candy eyeballs halfway into the melting chocolate to create eyelids and give them an extra intense stare. (pictured)

Chocolate Shortbread Spider

Love shortbread? You’ll be all about this arachnid.

Ingredients

  • Shortbread Cookies

  • Lindt Chocolate Truffles

  • Candy Eyes

  • Chocolate for melting

Directions

1.     Melt chocolate.

2.     Dip the truffle halfway into the melted chocolate and place the truffle on top of the cookie’s center hole.

3.     Place cookie on parchment paper and pipe 8 spider legs using melting chocolate. Allow chocolate to pool a little at the cookie base to look like spider feet.

4.     Adhere candy eyes using melting chocolate.

Cookie Bats

Ready to make these fang-tastic goodies? Here’s how:

Ingredients

  • Chocolate Sandwich Cookies

  • Mini Reese Cups

  • Candy Eyes

  • Chocolate for melting

Directions

1. Twist chocolate sandwich cookie in half and remove icing.

2. Break each cookie half into two even pieces.

3. Melt chocolate and place in a sandwich bag.

4. Clip off a tiny corner of the bag and pipe chocolate onto the corner of each cookie piece and assemble as pictured on top of Reese's cup.

5. Add candy eyes using melting chocolate.
