Reclaim Your Space
You’re spending a lot of time in your home during quarantine, and so you may be feeling like you’re in need of a change. One way to feel good about it again? Declutter and organize. Here’s a starter guide.
Start small. Don’t look at your entire space, instead focus on a small area like a closet or small room.
Create three groupings—what you’ll keep, what you’ll throw away, and what you’ll donate. (Remember, you’ll need to store donations until after the quarantine ends).
Before you begin, invest in items like shelf risers, drawer organizers, and clear boxes to make more space in closets.
In bedrooms, consider storage solutions in furniture, like benches that double as toy boxes.
Try a “lazy Susan” or spinning shelf in closets to make it easy to find what you need.
Use magnetic strips inside of closet doors to hold any items that will stick.
Store shoes heel-to-toe to maximize space.
Use pipe cleaners or rubber bands on hangers to keep sweaters and shirts from slipping.
Hang shower hooks from a bar in your closet to easily hang purses and bags.
